Classic apps, like notepad, don't do anything with the OSK. On win8, there's obviously 'modern' apps, but we don't run in that mode at all. By default on win10, Firefox won't show the OSK in desktop mode. Win10 has reasonable user-control by way of 'tablet mode' in its own UI. The reason Jared and I think/thought it made sense to disable for 44 is in part related to how Windows 8 tablet behaviour is not really well-defined by the OS to begin with. So it essentially 'just' had a beta cycle, from that perspective. That was uplifted for aurora, the day before aurora went to beta.
